My path to my dream job
By now, I have had just under three years on it with the railways. On 5 March 2019, I applied for internal driver training at Arriva. Soon after in May and June, the 2 examinations followed and soon I was allowed to ride with a train driver to see if I liked it. From 1 September 2019, I was then employed as a trainee driver at Arriva. After that, everything accelerated, despite the intervention of Corona, I passed my 4 VVRV exams on 12 June 2020 and received my driver’s licence. On 18 July 2020, I transferred to NS after which, on 17 May 2021, I logged my first independent kilometres over Roermond. On 29 May 2021, I made the news with my TikTok videos explaining the work of “the train driver”.

During the time I was driving independently for Arriva, I recorded some lasting memories with my GoPro Hero 8, edited them a bit and posted them on YouTube. Now other interested parties can also watch over the hilly landscape of Limburg.
I also managed to release a minigame on the YouTube channel in October 2020, the MachinistMart shunting minigame.
